HydroTech Hose |
Winston Products has reached agreement with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to conduct a voluntary recall of the HydroTech Burst Proof Expandable Hose 5/8” Diameter. The recalled hoses can burst, posing an impact hazard and a risk of temporarily impaired hearing if the strain relief breaks or is fully unthreaded. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled hoses.
Please read the information below for details.
The inner liner of the hose can expand and burst if the strain relief breaks or becomes fully unthreaded. There are two black plastic strain reliefs on each hose, one at each end.
a) All 5/8” diameter HydroTech Expandable Burst Proof Hoses (25 ft, 50 ft, 60 ft, 75 ft, 100 ft, 200 ft) that include a manufacturing date code ending in -211, -212, -213, -214, -221, -222, -223, -224, -231, -232, -233, -234, -241, -242, -243, or no date code displayed are valid for the recall. Some date codes may contain a hyphen or space after the first two numbers and appear as 23-4, 24-3, etc. These are valid as well.
b) NOT included in voluntary recall: 5'8" diameter HydroTech Expandable Burst Proof hoses with a manufacturing date code of -244, -251, -252, and -253 are not included. The HydroTech PRO SERIES 3/4“ diameter 2x Max Flow or FLAT JACKET product lines are not included.
Only products manufactured before August 31, 2024 are included in this voluntary recall.
While consumers may not have the original packaging, retailers receive product from Winston Products with the packaging. Therefore, the packaging may have a date of manufacture code on the packaging, which can be used to determine if the hose is manufactured on or before August 31, 2024. Please reference this image to locate where the date code (where blue arrow points to) appears on the packaging.
To the extent there is no stickered date code, the Firm also implemented a UPC change on the 25’, 50’, and 100’ hoses and to the extent the new UPC is printed on the packaging (not a sticker but printed artwork on the product packaging) it was manufactured after August 31, 2024 as the Firm implemented printed UPCs at its factories for all product manufactured after August 31, 2024. The new UPC codes are: 849278056384 (25’ hose), 849278056339 (50’ hose), 849278056346 (100’ hose).
Please reference the images below to locate where to find the UPC (highlighted in red) on the packaging.

When the date of manufacture on the packaging is in conflict with the date of manufacture code on the product, use the date on the original hose packaging. The date codes on the product are not a manufacturer date code of the hose itself but reference to when the spigot-end regulator component of the hose was manufactured. Therefore, some hoses manufactured after August 31, 2024 which used older spigot-end regulator components include a date code on the product indicating that the hose is included in the recall (“-211, -212, -213, -214, -221, -222, -223,- 224, -231, -232, -233, -234, -241, 242, -243”), however, if a consumer still has the packaging they can tell that these hoses are not included in the recall (packaging date code of 0924 and later). Please reference this image to locate where the date code (where blue arrow points to) appears on the packaging. If a customer no longer has the original packaging, out of an abundance of caution, the Firm is instructing them to reference the on-product date code to determine whether their hose is recalled.
HydroTech Hoses have a 10-year warranty and if customers registered for the warranty, they may exchange their hose for a replacement directly with Winston Products LLC. Any customer questions please contact Winston Products at 1-844-430-1311 or email info@hydrotechproducts.com.
